Way back when my transportation was a mongoose bmx bike I did my normal check of the posters at the local hobby store and found one of the coolest trucks I had ever seen, the truck was named β€œsouthern comfort”. Even though it was going to be difficult to hold the poster (if you collected these posters you will remember they were backed by cardboard and wrapped in plastic) I didn’t care and bought it on the spot, just in case someone else might come along and but it. When I shot this K100 back in 1992 I had no idea this was that very truck, it wasn’t until looking at these pics recently that I noticed the similarities. I cant help but wonder if its still around, but here’s what it looked like in 1992.

I used to go see this rig when I was between 7 and 10 at the annual Anahiem convention center Truck Show in Anahiem, Ca. I was searching for this truck a few years back as I wanted to see if it was still in exhistance… I had swore if I ever had the chance I would buy it if I could afford it. I have never come across it yet, to be honest I did not know that someone had painted it in to a united ven lines truck but they definated ly had to be a out of there mind when they did it. If you saw the truck before on the posters and other prints it came on, you would know why I say they were out of there mind. If you had the privilage of seeing the rig in person it was even beter and the interior of this rig was nothing short of southern comfort as I rember it at 10 yrs old. I was supprized to see an ad for it a while ago on the internet as a wanted ad and it showed that this is what it looked like last known. I never would have thought it would have been changed and to be totally honest I had questioned the person running the ad because I wasn’t sure if that was the same truck. There were a hand full of them in the early to mid 80s similar to this, pete and kw s. Anyway if anyone knows where the rig is I am still interested in it. Hit me up jstreet714@hotmail.com
