October 2018 Editorial

Welcome to the October, 2018 edition of LargeCarMag Online! In this issue, we have a feature on Zach Hofer’s 1980 Peterbilt 359 with Photos by Steve Ford & Jessica Ford and a story by Steve Ford, as well as an additional feature on Matt Kanagy’s 2006 Peterbilt 379 with Photos and a story by Steve Ford. We also have massive show coverage of our LCM Southern Classic show.

Zach Hofer

Way back in our very first print issue (September 2006),  we featured Zach Hofer’s 1980 Peterbilt 359. So it’s fitting that exactly 12 years later, we are once again featuring a Zach Hofer creation, this time it’s his 1978 Kenworth W900A extended hood.

2018 LCM Southern Classic – Steve Ford’s Coverage

On October 13th we held our 9th Annual Southern Classic truck show, once again at the beautiful Lee Hi Travel Plaza in Lexington Virginia. One thing that impresses me every year is the amount of trucks that come that I have never seen before and when talking to the owners, I’m told that they don’t go to shows and the Southern Classic is the only show they will show their truck. Throughout the day participants and spectators could listen to music, check out all the rides and the record number of vendors we had this year including.

Matt Kanagy

This feature on Matt Kanagy’s (AKA Mr. Clean) 2006 Peterbilt 379 is long overdue.  We used it as a centerfold back in our September 2008 issue and did a full shoot on this big ride, but never ran it as a feature. But as they say, everything happens for a reason.

Oct 2018 Reader’s Rides

I think we all know who Todd Campbell is, his amazing Freghtliner cabover has been to many shows and has been seen by most of us on social media. Todd however has a huge collection of cool rides and this 1972 Peterbilt 359 little window 359 is his next to hit the road!

Oct 2018 Flashback

Caught this pair of K100’s at the TA in Ashland Virginia back in the early 80s on our way to the beach for our family vacation.
