We’re heading to Batesville, Arkansas to bring you the story of Robert “Bob” Spooner. A man who has spent a lifetime living and instilling the values of old school style trucking in our modern day world.
Wesley Wimmer owns this large 1992 Peterbilt 379 and 1997 Great Dane reefer. Wesley has owned the truck since 1996 and made many changes along the way.
Most aren’t up to the caliber of Jace King’s 2001 Pete 379. Having grown up in some pretty cool rides like a ’72 KW A model and an “80 Pete 359 short hood, he knew his future involved beautiful trucks and hard work. He started J King Trucking 10 years ago and at 34 years old his Pete shows he knows what he’s doing!
Way back in September 2006 in our premiere print issue we featured a truck owned by Scott Diller of Lanita transport known as Tequila Sunrise. In the eleven years since that feature Lanita Transport has become Lanita Specialized and has grown it to what has to be one of the most amazing fleet of working trucks in the country!
The 7th annual Midwest Pride in your ride show this year started off with awesome weather and a convoy with several Cancer survivor people riding with the different trucks in the convoy.
On May 13th , 2017, Antrim Diesel held their annual Dyno Day and as usual it was an amazing event full of big horsepower.
Many trucks caught my eye that day but one of the real standouts was John Neal’s 1982 Kenworth A model. Well, the title says 1982 but the specs tell another story. Features like a 6NZ C-15 Cat, an 18 speed, flex air suspension, air ride front suspension and electric wipers make it seem like a much newer machine.
As we begin a new year let’s take one more look back at 2017 and a huge anniversary celebration. The Freightliner Corporation celebrated the milestone of 75 years of being a pioneer in the truck building industry.
Curt Martin drives this large 2007 W900L for JR Zimmerman (the transportation division of AB Martin Roofing Supply).
I’m not sure where I caught this Freightliner but it was in the mid 80’s.

With the trucking industry facing many major changes, such as emissions regulations and electronic logs, many folks have decided to restore their older trucks to like new condition again, rather than replace them. Along with that, comes a passion for things that are retro, yet modern. Such is the case for Coldwater, MI based trucker, Phil Knowlan.
