Luke Schaffer

Luke Schaffer

Luke Schaffer from Randolph, Minnesota, takes plenty of pride in his 1990 Kenworth W900L. Luke grew up the son of a farming family in southeastern Minnesota. At age 19, he started hauling grain for a local farmer with a Peterbilt 359. In 2001, he started working for the Eilen family doing local end dump work for 3 years. After a 5 year break doing excavating, he found himself back with the Eilen’s. This time, it was learning the ropes of running over the road with the late Jake Eilen’s black and red Peterbilt 379. He learned what it took to be an owner-operator over the road. In 2012, he decided it was time to buy his own and was lucky to find one so fine.

Real Deal

Real Deal

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve written a Real Deal and to those who actually like to listen to my stories…I apologize….but when you write stories about old trucks and real truck drivers, sometimes it gets hard and disheartening when you’re surrounded by new junk and steering wheel holders in sandals!
