When I first looked at the photos of Darren Friedrichson’s 2018 Peterbilt 389, my first thought was what a cool older truck! It just had that simple, uncomplicated, not overdone old school look. The beautiful blue cab, sleeper and hood and black fenders and tanks are perfect with just a little pinstriping. No need for over the top graphics and tons of bolt ons here.
On April 28-29th we made our way back to the Carroll County Ag Center in Westminster Maryland for the 4th Carroll County Buckwild Truck & Tractor Show.
On April 22nd the Las Vegas Semi Truck Show was held at the legendary Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Although the Southern Nevada chapter of the ATHS has held shows in the past, this is the first year they have invited new and working trucks to join and it was for cash and trophies.
Did I mention we love A Model’s? Restored, unrestored, working, non-working. You name it, we love ‘em. JR Schleuger’s ’80 A Model is no exception. How could you NOT love a restored, modified and KTA 450 powered K-Dub? JR seems to have hit that perfect mix of old school and custom with just the right amount of add-ons and a traditional style paint scheme.
We’re heading to New Oxford, Pennsylvania to visit with Ed Frock. We’re going to take a look at his trio of successful companies and the big power top of the line rigs built by Ed and his family over the last 50 years.
Age 15 Austin Crump drew the first of our two Diesel Doodles for this month.
Age 8 Thatcher Rice drew the 2nd of our two Diesel Doodles this month.
These trucks were a daily sight when I was going to middle school at Herndon Intermediate School in Herndon Va.
