Welcome to the June, 2017 issue of LCM Online!
Chase Paduano built this incredible 1/24th scale replica of Ivan Yoder’s 379.
I caught this 359 rolling south down I 95 between Springfield and Newington Va Back in the early 80’s
Greg Penner owns this 2006 Peterbilt 379.
I was honored to be chosen to be the “official” photographer at the Chrome For Kids Truck Show again this year. Last year was the first year for this type of show and the feedback was so good they had another fund raising show again this year. There have been many corporate sponsors for the show as well as many trucking companies and individuals.
We are going to take a trip to Eindhoven Netherlands for the U.S Truck meet courtesy of Frank Schmidt. Frank is a long time member of the LCM community and has shared images of American trucks ( including his large B model Kenworth) from overseas for almost as long as LCM has had a message board. This event is the largest gathering of American trucks in Europe and was held at one of the members shop, De Crom.
July 10th 2016 we once again made our way to Spencers Chrome Parts and Service for their annual truck show and as usual it drew not only the large number of A models its known for but also a huge variety of makes and models.
On July 23rd Kaitlynn Bewley made her way once again to the Butler County Fairgrounds for the 2016 Made In The Shade truck show in David City Nebraska.
The 2016 Denver Truck Painting Keystone Diesel Nationals, held on July 23rd at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pennsylvania was a hot show, literally!
2016 Denver Truck Painting Keystone Diesel Nationals – CJ Nairn’s coverage.
On July 14th-16th Iowa 80 Truckstop held their annual Truckers Jamboree. As you can see once again large working trucks as well as tons of very cool antiques filled the lot.
If 18 wheelers are awesome, then a 30 wheeler must be even awesomer and if you read my first LCM article then you know my heroes have always been heavy haulers. So when they asked me to write this article on Truett Novosad’s new ride I went into full Mathew McConaughey mode…alright alright alright!!!
Hurst Tasha (Age 5) from Cape Cod Ma. sent us this month’s doodle.
On the weekend of July 29-31st, with the help of Jimmy Rosenberger of Mini Chrome Shop, I made my way back to Rantoul for the Top Gun LargeCar Shootout for the first time in several years.
