John Dunnigan

Current Issue Navigation<< September 2013 EditorialRiding Around September 2013 >> John Dunnigan, Jr, of Hillsboro, MO owns this clean KW. This 1994 Kenworth W900L has a classic style, but has many updated features, allowing John to be comfortable while on the road.   A big 625 horsepower Caterpillar engine puts plenty of power through a heavy duty 18-9 series, 13 spd transmission.  All that power barks through a set of 8″ pipes, with Pickett elbows.  With the wheelbase stretched to 325″, and an air ride front axle, this big truck probably rides better than your Coupe De Ville!   With a clean maroon and black seminole paint scheme, trimmed in gold, you may think this is a classic truck.  It’s classic style goes by the wayside, when you see the large 74″ Studio Sleeper. The sleeper has been modified with a UniBilt opening, allowing more legroom and makes the sleeper more accessible after those long days on the road.  Shiny stainless hangs on the exterior of John’s truck, from front to back, including the steps, blank cab and bunk panels, and tank covers.  A custom frame cover keeps everything smooth between the sleeper and the custom painted, double hump fenders.   Aside from the wheelbase, and large bunk opening, John definitely paid attention to detail inside as well, undoubtedly with comfort in mind!  A pair of  Wide Ride low rider seats sit atop a smooth aluminum floor, that’s been painted and striped to match the exterior of this beautiful ride.  Looking past the painted dash panels, and under a drop visor, John must enjoy every mile in this truck, that was built in memory of John Dunnigan, Sr. Being from MO,...

Truckin For Kids 2012

Current Issue Navigation<< Convoy Truck Parts Truck ShowTruckin’ Tattoo September 2013 >> The 32nd annual Truckin For Kids Truck Show and Drags were held October 6th-7th 2012 at Irwindale Raceway in Irwindale California. Saturday at Truckin For Kids is always a day for vendors to set up and early arrivals to roll in. Saturday was the perfect time for me to check out Leroy Bracelin’s incredibly detailed 358 Peterbilt built by Brent’s Custom Trucks, nice to finally meet you Brent! Saturday night’s annual “light the lot” light show did not disappoint! With row after row of trucks giving the lot a nice amber glow. Sunday saw the parking lot full of large rides, over 200 packed into the lot!! After spending a few hours taking pics in the lot it was time to head to the track and get some action shots of the diesel drag racing. At the end of the day over $12,000.00 had been raised for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation which makes a great show even better! Frank and Dianna Pangburn and their whole crew should be very proud, year after year they put on a great show! I would like to thank Bryce Davis for his hospitality. This years dates are October 5-6th, see you there!! --Click Images to Enlarge or Click Here to View as slideshow (scroll down after clicking)--...
